Welcome!

Racine County is home to approximately 195,000 people in two cities, nine villages and seven towns. You may have heard about the area's quality of life, are looking to start a new business, or have taken a job in the area. Whatever your reason for coming, let us at Visit Racine County be among the first to welcome and assist you in learning more about our communities.

Racine County is a prime location in southeastern Wisconsin, located approximately 25 miles south of Milwaukee and 60 miles north of Chicago. Interstate 94 conveniently links the county with Milwaukee, Madison, and Minneapolis to the west, and Chicago and Detroit to the east.

Racine County is home to North Beach, Wisconsin's first beach designated as a Certified Blue Wave clean beach by the National Clean Beaches Coalition; Wind Point Lighthouse, the oldest and tallest working lighthouse on Lake Michigan; Frank Lloyd Wright architectureDanish KringleRacine Zoo; and Racine Art Museum, home to the nation's largest collection of contemporary crafts.

Racine County is a mix of what’s best about Wisconsin and the Midwest. If you like quiet, small towns, you’ll enjoy our compact and friendly rural villages, like Waterford, Rochester and Union Grove. If you like thriving, busy, yet manageable cities, you’ll want to take in the sights of Racine with its beckoning lakefront, fascinating Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and exciting downtown. You'll also want to experience Burlington nestled in the scenic Fox River valley. If you're looking for accessible suburbs, visit the villages of Mount Pleasant, Caledonia, Sturtevant, or Wind Point. If you appreciate the serenity of rolling farmland, you’ll want to spend time on our county highways, which include picturesque rustic roads. And if you love the water, you might find it hard to choose between Lake Michigan to the east and dozens of delightful inland lakes to the west.
