No matter where you go in Racine County, you're never very far from green spaces—and green attitudes. The county, and its cities, villages and towns, all have parkland where visitors can simply stretch their legs or enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, bicycling, fishing, and other sports.
The Racine County parks system has a wide variety of sites, including:
Bushnell Park, 95 acres, 32100 Bushnell Rd., Burlington. This park includes baseball and soccer fields, horseshoe pits, children's playground equipment, bike trails, canoe/kayak launch and fishing, and a large shelter with picnic tables, grills and electric.
Case Eagle Park, 239 acres, 310 S. Rochester St., Rochester. This park has baseball and soccer fields as well as bike trail connections to the Seven Waters Trail. Includes the Jean M. Jacobson Dog Park.
Cliffside Park, 233 acres, 7320 Michna Rd., Caledonia. One of the county's best-known parks because of its 92 campsites. The park also has baseball/softball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, and children's playground as well as two shelter areas with picnic tables, grills and electric.
Colonel Heg Memorial Park, 20 acres, 6300 Heg Park Rd., Norway. An 1830s log cabin and museum, staffed by the Wind Lake Historical Society, provides history education on summer weekend afternoons.
Eagle Lake Park, 25 acres, 23705 Church Rd., Dover. A beautiful shelter with picnic tables, grills, electric, and a lake view await Eagle Lake picnickers. There are also playgrounds and a variety of recreational sports fields. The lake is popular for fishing all year round.
Fischer Park, 53 acres, 30326 Durand Ave., Burlington. This park has beach access to Browns Lake with lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor Day, picnic tables, and boat launch. There is a park admission charge and boat launch fee during the summer.
Evans Park, 66 acres, 14700 Washington Ave., Union Grove. Tucked away just west of the Highway C intersection is this small, simple park offers a quiet spot for people looking for a break from the routine.
Horlick Park and Root River Parkway, 694 acres, 3630 Rapids Ct., Racine. This parkway has a boat launch for small boats, canoes and kayaks with green space along the upper reaches of the river.
Len Ziolkowski Harbor Park and Reefpoint Marina, 16 acres, 2 Christopher Columbus Causeway, Racine. This park has an overlook structure with an elevated deck that provides a great view of the harbor, marina and Lake Michigan. There is also shore fishing access and a free fish cleaning station.
Pritchard Park, 79 acres, 2800 Ohio St., Racine. The Veterans Memorial and Wieczorek Pavilion are among the highlights of this park. The pond located near the pavilion provides fishing experiences for kids. The park also has baseball diamonds, a soccer field, playground and a jogging trail.
Quarry Lake Park, 40 acres, 3533 Northwestern Ave., Racine. A former limestone quarry, this spring-fed lake park is popular for swimming, scuba diving and fishing. The park also offers picnic areas and a large bathhouse that can be reserved for private events. The Karen A. Nelson Memorial Dog Park is located near the main entrance to the park.
Sanders Park, 80 acres, 4809 Wood Rd., Mount Pleasant. This park features a marked nature trail through a designated State Scientific area. There is also a 5 acre campground with 19 campsites, athletic facilities and picnic areas.
