Explore Racine County's fascinating history at the Racine Heritage Museum. This compact museum, housed in a former Carnegie Library building, contains exhibits that tell stories of the fascinating, innovative people who have called Racine County home. These include astronaut Laurel Clark, inventor A.B Modine, agricultural industrialist J.I. Case and the SC Johnson family. A newer feature — the Racine County Sports Hall of Fame — celebrates the accomplishments of its many athletes, including baseball's Duane Kuiper, basketball's Jim McIlvaine and cycling's Erin Mirabella. The Heritage Museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays. Admission is free; donations are welcome.
