Sgraffito Clay Plate Workshop

Overview

Create one of a kind sgraffito designs on a clay plate, for a useable piece of art or a lovely wall plate. Learn the art of sgraffito: a technique where you carve or scratch designs into underglazed clay to show the contrast between color and the clay body. Teens aged 14 and older may take most adult classes; some require instructor’s consent. Clay, glazes, and firing included in workshop fee. Face masks may be required for this class depending on the state of the pandemic at the time. Online registration closes two business days before class begins. You may also call 262-636-9177 to check for class availability, and to register, Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm, and Saturday, noon – 4:00 pm. Classes are held at RAM’s Wustum Museum, 2519 Northwestern Avenue, Racine. $30 RAM Members; $36 Non-Members
