A must-see when in Racine! One of only three on the Great Lakes to be designated as a Certified Blue Wave Committee of Washington, D.C. This 50-acre sandy paradise has soft, fluffy sand groomed daily in the summer. It reminds many of a West Coast beach in California. The North Beach Oasis, North Beach's concessions stand, serves sandwiches, ice cream, water, soda, adult beverages and on weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day, live music entertains beach-goers. Lifeguards on duty Sunday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from the first week in June through the first week in September. Free parking in designated lots or street parking west of the beach.
Also at North Beach a newly paved bike path runs along the length of the beach, north to the Racine Zoo and south to Downtown. Bring your bikes, roller blades or walking shoes for a beautifully scenic experience. Jet Skis, kayaks, boats, and surrey bikes can be rented at Pier 29 Water Sport Rentals at Pugh Marina.
A community of volunteers has also built "Kid's Cove", an ever entertaining children's playground. This nautical themed playground is fun for the young and the old. North Beach is home to events such as the EVP Professional Beach Volleyball Tournament and the Ironman 70.3 Racine Triathlon. All this and so much more can be found along Racine's beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. If you want to see a short video on North Beach, click here.
