Winter of Wonder - a series of special events celebrating a cold weather animal each weekend from Nov 19, 2016 - Jan 8, 2017. Each weekend includes fun games, kids crafts, delicioius snactiviites, food/drink specials and animal chats about how the featured animals can adapt so well to colder climates. Don't miss the Zoo's temporary holiday reindeer exhibit just north of Bear Ridge. Weekend reindeer chats are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
World of Wonder featured animals are: reindeeer (Nov. 19-20), narwhals (Nov. 26-27), Arctic fox/Arctic hare (Dec. 3-4), polar bears (Dec. 10-11), emperor penguins (Dec. 17-18), cold weather big cats (Dec. 24) and wolves (Jan. 2-3). Regular zoo winter admission applies - $4 adults; $3.50 seniors; $3 kids ages 3 to 15. Kids ages 2 and younger free. Winter hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Closed Christmas Day.
