Invasive species, invasive waste, invasive plants, invasive creatures, invasive art… make art that investigates the idea of invasion. Using innovation, invention, originality, and imagination, discover crafting that explores the concept of intrusion. Make imaginary plants, animals, and creatures -- maybe even an alien or two! -- from a wide variety of materials. Examine through a maker’s lens other invasive entities like waste and garbage that are invading our natural world. Learn about art that is sometimes considered invasive… like street or graffiti art -- think Banksy or Jean Michel Basquiat’s SAMO.
At the end of the week, we will infiltrate the Wustum grounds with our Zero Waste outsider art installations – a pop-up art permeation! A totally cool way to host an art invasion! Parents and family members will be invited to join in the outside fun, and explore the art that was created throughout the week at the annual Gallery Night: Invasion Celebration on Friday at 4:00 pm.
