TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® to Honor Mothers with Annual
Movers for Moms® Donation Drive April 9 - May 9
Items to benefit women at area shelters

As families across the nation anticipate Mother’s Day with brunches and flowers, many women in the US will be spending the day in homeless shelters, many as a result of domestic abuse.
To make life in shelter just a little gentler for these moms in need, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country and here in Wisconsin are hosting their annual Movers for Moms® donation drives to collect personal care items to benefit moms in shelter at Mother’s Day. Donations of essential care items such as hair care products, bedding, bath products, toothpaste, and soft goods will be collected at local businesses April 9 through May 9.
Please watch for these collection boxes statewide and consider making a donation of new personal care items which will stay local and serve women at various shelters in our communities. An interactive map of donation sites may be found at https://twomenandatruck.com/movers-for-moms.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK© franchises across the country will all take part in the campaign because so many women struggle with domestic violence. According to information from The National Domestic Abuse Hotline, one in four women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime. Disturbing statistics from The National Alliance to End Homelessness report that domestic violence is the immediate cause of homelessness for many women, and 92 percent of homeless women had experienced severe physical or sexual assault at some point in their lives.
Lyn Hildebrand, Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Center in Racine, has expressed how much these donations mean to her clients.
“The Women’s Resource Center in Racine was so pleased to receive the many boxes of ‘treasures’ that were donated by the community during the Movers for Moms campaign. The boxes were delivered on my first day of work at the center; what a wonderful way to begin my career with the agency - being gifted boxes and boxes of much needed items for our guests. Bedding, towels, personal care products – you name it, we unpacked it. With these donations we were able to provide our guests with many luxury items which they were forced to leave behind when they fled their abusers, things we take for granted – blow dryers, full size body spray, body wash & body lotion, fresh clean towels, socks, etc. The donations have enabled us to provide welcome packets of personal care products to each guest as well as parting packages to help them transition into their new residence once they have completed their stay with us. On behalf of our entire agency, thank you so very much to each person who made a contribution, and to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK for your efforts in ensuring that these donations were delivered with care to us.”
