Migration will bring to light the trials and rewards of leaving one’s homeland with the hope of a better future. This concert will include an Irish band, spoken word, and a chamber ensemble. The musical works include Letters from Ireland by Mark Brymer, The Golden Door by R. Perera, Malala – Pakistani Girl by L. Nickel, and “Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor” by Irving Berlin. We will hold Migration at the First Presbyterian Church in Racine because of its history as a stop on the Underground Railroad, for its excellent acoustics, and for its central location.
