Pancake Day has been a local tradition since 1955. Held on the first Saturday in May, the record attendance stands at 11,000. The menu features Klement’s sausage and all the pancakes that you’d care to eat.
Admission is $6 in advance; $7 at the door. Kids ages 5 and under free.
The event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Racine with help from more than 200 volunteers. Even local to national politicians are pressed into service.
Local talent provides a variety of entertainment throughout the day. The club's pride and joy are four home engineered and built pancake griddle machines. They feature five foot diameter rotating aluminum decks, gas heated from above and below and computerized controls. The champion pancake flippers turnout hundreds of meals per hour.
