"Fashionista: Fashion as Art and Art as Fashion."
This show, featuring the work of Racine artists Kelly Witte and Samira Gdisis, is inspired by the artists' fondness of vintage fashion and imagery. It transforms the Racine Arts Council's ArtSpace Gallery into a chic vibrant pop-up boutique. The concept of fashion as art and art as fashion is explored through artwork that includes linoleum relief prints, mixed media collages, and drawings.
Visitors can purchase handmade fashion accessories including brooches, scarves, glass pendants and tote bags designed by the artists exclusively for the exhibition. Full sized retro inspired mixed media dresses created by the artists will also be shown.
