River Bend Nature Center hosts the Annual Chainsaw Carving and Art Fair. Carvers from all over the Midwest will be creating works of art from pine and spruce logs. All carvings will go up for auction at 3 p.m. Sunday with half of the proceeds benefiting RBNC's education and recreation programs.
Chainsaw carving hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Other activities on Sunday include a free Art Fair, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring nature-focused, handmade original works of art for sale. There will also be hand carving and sawmill demonstrations, archery, learning centers, children's crafts and silent auctions.
New this year is a wine and beer tasting hike (must be 21+) from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. $25 advance; $30 at the door.
