Starving Artist Fair - August 5th
The Racine Art Guild presents the Starving Artist Fair. A fun event for the entire family! All types of original, fine art are represented at this juried art fair (priced under $300). There is also a children's art corner, silent auction, music, and food!
Fair hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission.
Tall Tales Music Festival - August 9 - 10
Celebrating the cultural significance of storytelling through music, the FREE festival features nationally touring artists, homegrown Wisconsin talent, and a full weekend of music workshops for fans of all ages. Music Matters celebrating 10 year Anniversary offering workshops: Pint Size Polka, Drum Circle, Ukulele Workshop, UW Parkside "The Range" performing, Sing-A-Long with Jubilate Singers and much more.
The Olympian 5k/10k - August 10th
Hosted by Real Racine (hey that's us!) and the Wisconsin Senior Olympics, this intergenerational event is a qualifier for Nationals in the Wisconsin Senior Olympics. We invite the general public to get in on the fun! General public registration is only $25! Kids can race or cheer along the spectator-friendly route. Join us after the race for the awards ceremony and fun activities in Pershing Park. Registration for families is only $45!
Origins of Hip Hop - August 17th

In its 8th annual year, Origins of Hip Hop celebrates the elements of hip hop culture. Attendees will have opportunities to get involved in the action. Anyone interested in trying their hand at graffiti art can do so on special panels provided at the event. And area hip-hop DJs, emcees, dancers and more are invited to enter competitions in their categories, with a chance to win cash prizes. Registration for competitions is available at the event but must be done prior to the start of each competition. Watch our video to learn more below:
Animal Crackers Concert Series - August 7th & 21st
Enjoy the upbeat music, the beautiful lake view and delicious food from the numerous dining options on-site during this annual Zoo event! Playing August 7th, Jazmin Ghent has two Billboard-topping singles and has performed at various major festivals throughout the country and in Europe. Jazmin was voted “2017’s Best New Smooth Jazz Artist".
Playing August 21st, Nick Colionne keeps up his whirlwind pace of 75-plus shows per year as one of the genre’s most tireless and explosive live performers, becoming the only artist in the history of the format to score five consecutive #1 singles on the Billboard Smooth Jazz National Airplay and Smooth Jazz Songs charts from a single album.
Tickets are $25 per person each concert, $30 at the gate. Online ticket sales will conclude at 12 pm on the day of the concert.
