The Branch at 1501 is known in the heart of Uptown Racine as a mainstage venue for small weddings, night markets, and other community-centric events. Recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has pivoted into being an incubator space for startups with big dreams to serve even bigger appetites.
These pop-up take out services are available on select weekdays and weekends and have been incredibly popular among locals and travelers to Racine County during social distancing times. Sap-Sap, meaning "Delicious Delicious" in the Lao language, brings you Lao-inspired cuisine, for wholesale and online retail consisting of their own unique recipes such as their, as well as authentic classics.
Sap Sap was founded in 2015, as an expansion of it’s predecessor, Mamma’s Eggrolls, by Owner and Lead Product Developer, Alex Hanesakda. Alex’s love of Laotian food is home-grown, learning a rich tradition of Lao cooking from years of food preparation with his parents and other friends and family in the Laos community, preparing authentic Lao cuisine in it’s the purest form. Pitmaster Emerson Holliday brings passion, flavor, and culture to the Branch with Dragon Pitt BBQ. This startup uses family recipe inspired rubs while also bringing new twists to barbecue culture, giving them a modern twist with innovative food fusions. Menu items such as Traditional New Orleans style gumbo, slow-smoked Jamaican Jerk pulled chicken sandwiches, and baby back ribs are just a few of the signature specials on this superstar cast. With a mission to connect people and coffee, Esperanza Coffee roasters are committed to supplying the Racine County area with ethically sourced coffee served in every cup. Coming directly from their family's coffee farms in Acatenango, Guatemala, this heirloom dates back to their grandfather growing coffee on the farm over 70 years ago. You can get any of their handcrafted coffee beverages made daily at their drive-thru coffee shop (Delivered right through a vintage bank teller drawer!) at the back entrance of The Branch.
